The KS3 curriculum follows the National Curriculum through Collins Science scheme of work. This challenges all ability ranges and lays a foundation for learning at KS4.
We have high expectations of what our young people can achieve.
At KS4, all have the opportunity to study a BTEC First qualification leading to the equivalent of 1 GCSE.
In 2022-23 Meade Hill will also offer a Science GCSE for more able students who want to achieve 2 GCSEs.
Cultural capital is provided through a programme of off-site visits and experiences. These are dependent on availability but have included: The Science Museum, Manchester; The Big Brain Event, Manchester University; Visits and demonstrations from Manchester University students.
We promote communication and literacy skills in every lesson having key literacy focus each term. Communication is also encouraged through modelling.
Excellent work and attitudes to learning are celebrated in reward assemblies, positive phone calls home and end of term reward trips.
