Music Therapy

Music Therapy at Meade Hill

Music Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that can help the young person to recognize and process difficult emotions and feelings without relying on the spoken word. It uses music to help improve a young person’s overall health and wellbeing and the therapeutic process can be empowering and helpful for the young person. Music Therapy can support the young person to feel grounded and regulate their feelings whilst offering a safe space to explore and express difficulties. Music Therapy uses sound, music and talking to engage and connect with individuals and may include playing musical instruments, singing, moving, breathing, listening to music, writing a song or relaxing to music.
